The user may use this program for one year. Hopefully before that you
will feel guilty and send some money. After one year your trial period will
expire and further use is prohibited. REMEMBER, XOLO IS NOT FREE OR PUBLIC
DOMAIN!
We know we cannot force you to pay, but payment would greatly motivate us to
make more solid, entertaining programs. If you don't pay, at least upload
it to your favorite BBS or net!
XOLO v1.0 may be distributed only if the files listed above are included
without any modification, no additional files are included, and no fee
is charged by someone other than Eric Riel or Mark Riel.
A note from the programmers:
We started this program as a way to see what we could accomplish on a
486dx 33 Mhz computer with vga graphics. This program was originally never
meant for release, but as it grew we thought it might interest others.
No, its not state of the art, but its intended to be played occasionally when
one has some time to kill. We learned a lot making this game. Mostly, sadly,
the limitations of the vga display. It sucks!
We are currently working on a war game. Castles, sieges, that sort of
thing. We could make a 3D type game (view credits, we have the routines!)
but we aren't interested, and others, with better resources are better
suited. Also, you may notice the lack of sound support. We don't have a sound
card, so we didn't program for one! Maybe the next game.
